about

OK…. here's my rough demo for 2019! FORTY tracks of synths, drums, riddims & rhythm boxing. It's 160+ minutes long. That = 4 LPs or 3 CDs. It can be edited down. That's not a problem… I am including ALL of it, so you get a HUGE idea of what is possible. Is it a Brian Ladd album? Or a Blackhouse album? I don't know. It just is. Check it out.
Thanks!

Blackhouse
Alias: Brian Ladd
Gender: Male
Country: United States
Description:
An enigmatic American industrial project started in 1984 by a duo of fictitious artists: IVO CUTLER and STERLING CROSS. In 1984-1985 these were aided by an equally fictitious ROGER FARRELL. The only real member and the creator of BLACKHOUSE was Brian LADD (b. 1959), a composer known from bands such as PSYCLONES and ORBITRONIK. The project’s inception and the choice of its name bore some hallmarks of criticism of the nihilistic ideology, favoured by many industrial arti- sts of the early 1980s. The main representative of the nihilism which LADD opposed through his own promotion of alternative values, was the controversial English band WHITEHOUSE. His response, though formally similar, was compositions containing spiritual lyrics, inspired by the life and philosophy of Jesus Christ. His opus magnum is the Five Minutes After I Die album (1986), a coherent collection of pieces well thought- out in all aspects, bearing certain resemblances to early E.N., and the power electronics movement. In the 1990s, LADD turned to rock, though continued to affirm the Christian religious and moral system. The symbolism of the project’s name, polemical to the entirety of the artists fascinated with nihilistic and libertine ideologies, also contains a hidden metaphor for the fear of death, the Last Judge- ment and the confrontation with God. The music was supposed to express man’s spiritual weakness rooted in his impenetrable primordial nature and the mark of original sin. While there is a hope of salvation present in the lyrics, the maniacal, horrific and grief-stricken delivery mars this positive picture, thus significantly expanding the context of his work.
